Chanel blush in Plum Attraction and nail polish in Paradoxal, available at Neiman Marcus |
Happy Wednesday, Blonde Ambitioners! This week has been another crazy one at work, so needless to say, I'm ecstatic that we're thismuchcloser to the weekend.
For the first time in a few weeks, I'm actually sore following last night's workout. I went to yoga yesterday evening (back to Level 4 again following the Great Yoga Disaster of 2010, haha) and was still pretty energized after it was over. So I thought I'd take advantage of the post-yoga endorphin rush and hit the treadmill for some good ole' cardio. I have to say, there's no better feeling than the one you get following an amazing sweat session, even if it does mean my calves are killing me today : )
On an unrelated note, The Rachel Zoe Project's new season premiered last night on Bravo and I was so bummed that I missed it. As most of you know, she's a fashion role model of mine and I got hooked on her show last year. I can't wait to watch and find out about all the drama surrounding Taylor and her reason for leaving Team Rachel...drama!
Speaking of fashion related things, what do you say we take a look at some of the new fall make-up colors today?
This autumn, it's all about deep purples, rich beiges and smoky grays for nails and eyes.
Particuliere, Nouvelle Vague and Paradoxal |
Last spring, Chanel debuted their amazing gray nail polish Particuliere and beauty mavens everywhere went nuts. In May, Beyonce appeared in the Telephone music video with Lady Gaga sporting some day-glo nails in another Chanel shade, Nouvelle Vague. Once again, make-up junkies flocked to cosmetics counters across the U.S. in search of this mega-bright lacquer. And this season, they've done it again. Meet the new "it" polish for fall/winter 2010, Paradoxal.
Celebs like Rachel Bilson are already addicted to this almost indescribable eggplant hue.
Nars polish in Purple Rain, available at Nars Cosmetics online |
Nars' new electric purple shadow, Daphne |
Richie rocks a purple smoky eye look at a recent charity gala in Los Angeles. |
Starletts like Nicole Richie are also using plum shades on their peepers. A purple-n-gray smoky palette is flattering on almost every eye color and can add depth and drama to any make-up look. My current favorite is Guerlain's Ecrin 6 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Champs-Elysees (below).

ReplyDeletethese are great fall colors.
ReplyDeleteThat purple hue is amazing!
ReplyDeletehey girl, i'm a new follower...those colors are great! nicole richie looks so chic in that eye color...i'm going to have to try that one out!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving everything purple right now! I love that Chanel polish too. I have some Chanel eyeshadow I LOVE and always get compliments on...it's a dark hunter green color and it's great. NARS makes the best colors too & they go on so great because the pigment is so strong.
ReplyDeletePurple is a favorite of mine. I'm just not sure about it on my eyes? I like Nicole's look, though. The rest is a little over-the-top for me!
ReplyDeleteI love the smokey eyes Nicole Richie is sporting in that picture. The purple really adds a fun touch to it! I might have to add a few purple shades to my makeup bag!
ReplyDeleteNicole Richie is so cute and her eyes look beautiful. All these colors are fantastic--I'm still not ready to give up spring/summer bright pinks and oranges on my nails, but when fall *really* hits, I'll be all about these colors. Even though purple nail polish reminds me so much of the mid 90's when it was popular to paint your nails (and dye your hair, ha) those colors! Just found your blog and am a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, maybe it's time for the 48 and some months old farm chick to get back in the swing of fashion. I have almost 6 & 8 year old girls, and I don't want to be mistaken for their grandma any time soon. I think I'm doing ok so far, but I don't want to slip and make them cringe due to a fashion faux pas! Following you from Gal in the Middle's page.

BTW I was an English major then a high school English teacher for 18 years before "retiring" to stay home with my girls.

ReplyDeleteI love the purple for the fall - but I guess I was a year ahead... I had some awesome purple nail polish last fall! ;) Guess I should dig it out again!
ReplyDeleteI have been obsessed about deep purple lately so I was very excited to hear that I can continue it this autumn!
ReplyDeleteI love purple and I will definitely be rocking the eye make up!
ReplyDeleteYES! I've totally been drooling over that purple Chanel polish!
ReplyDeleteI love deep purple nail polish. I can't wait till the fall to break out some deeper colors in my wardrobe and makeup! :)
ReplyDeleteI've always loved purple eyes! My fave is a deep eggplant powder eyeliner. It's not harsh but it's sexy/playful/smoky. Loves it!
