I'm such a kid when it comes to holidays, especially those that involve tricking out my apartment with kitcshy decor and wearing a ridiculous get-up. Thus, Halloween holds a special place in my heart.
I've been holding out on putting up all the boo-tastic finery until October rolled around, but seeing as how it is now October 5th....well...let's get this party started, shall we?
Because I am eons more mature and refined than I used to be (righttttt.....), I've been trying to find more stylish, toned-down Halloween decor. Less Adams Family, more Martha-Stewart-gone-Goth. I call it Spooky Chic.
Catchy, no?
Now you just can't do All Hallow's Eve without some devilishly sexy make-up. But you also don't want to look like Elvira's twin sister...it can be a tricky balance. Let's try...
1) Loose Khol Dust from Top Shop in Black; 2) Givenchy Vernis Please! Nail Laquer; 3) Mac Venomous Villains Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo; 4) Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black by Bobbi Brown; 5) Lipgloss in Gloom from Topshop |
It's macabre but still office-appropriate. Because I know y'all have all been losing sleep over how you're going to craft a Halloween-inspired make-up look that won't get HR all worked up...
Be blessed, lovelies-

Your so cute! I love that you get into it :) Cute decor ideas!!
ReplyDeleteI love the spider's web glass table top! It is incredible!!
ReplyDeleteYou really make me laugh. Always love when my Reader tells me you've updated...it's like catching up with an old friend. Love this post! Love all things fall/Halloween/holiday. This is MY FAV time of year, hands down.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your continuous sweet words on my blog. You are such a sweet friend, and although we've never met, I agree that we'd totally be bff in real life. Blessed with your fellowship and encouragement! So glad that this crazy blog world brought us together!
Nothing better than Spooky Chic...thanks for sharing it with us, hon! Happy Tuesday!
These are fun! I like the antro ones... :)
ReplyDeleteLeslie! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteHow creepy is that claw foot bottle opener? Shiver. Loving the nail polish in the second grouping fo' sho'.
Thanks again for stopping by!
Now I know what to wear to the office so it looks like I scared them ON PURPOSE instead of scaring them by accident (as I may have been known to do). :)
ReplyDeleteSo true, its very easy to look like Elvira AND her sister if the halloween makeup is too heavy/cheap quality. (I love the new MAC Venomous Villains line.) I'm all about a glamourous/kinda-sorta-creepy makeup look when dressing up for halloween!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your Spooky Chic design style...once upon a time I decorated the house for Halloween in a comtemporary/non-tacky way. But those days went out the window once our kids came along...it's all illuminated pumpkins and witches around here now...
I LOVE classy Halloween decor! Great finds!
ReplyDeleteI love the MAC makeup!! Now if I can just figure out where to get a great wig for my costume!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Halloween! I haven't put too much decor up this year though because my three year old is frightened by it! Poor little guy. Hopefully he'll outgrow it by next year!
ReplyDeleteThat spiderweb table top is too cute! I love decorating for the upcoming holidays!! Thanks for the inspiration chica! hugs
ReplyDeleteCan I have it all?! Just gorgeous! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI just love fall decor but I feel as if I never get it up in time to enjoy it before it's time to decorate for Christmas/winter! You've inspired me to try though! The pumpkin is just too cool!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love all these!
