...but I have to look darn good 'round about September 10th. So IHop, Chick-Fil-A and La Huerta (NWA residents, y'all know what I'm talking about) are going to be seeing my face a lot less frequently for the next 9 months.
Ben & Jerry's- You are dead to me, too.
But not really.
Because y'all know I'm going to have to have my Cherry Garcia at some point during all of this stressful wedding planning.
I've been working out hardcore for a good while and all of that effort has yielded some pretty decent results. However, my fiance and I have been indulging in quite a few naughty culinary treats
I mean, today I was getting dressed and thought, "Hmmm...I wonder what I'd look like right now if I hadn't devoured those Cinn-A-Stack pancakes over Christmas." (By the way, if you DO go to IHOP- please order the Cinn-A-Stack pancakes then write me a very descriptive email about them, so that I can live vicariously through you.)
My diet...oh me...my diet....it's going to have to shape up. Back in 'Ye Olden Days of College, I was a pom squad girl. Oh yes, the perky blonde smiling her face off, cheering maniacally into the ESPN2 camera. The one you make fun of for her ridiculous Southern brogue : )
...and my rear looked superb.
I loved sites like Calorie King for assitance in keeping track of what I ate and how hard I'd have to work to burn it off. So last night, in a fury of endorphins after my gym session, I visited my old pals Weight Watchers, Hungry Girl and Shape.com to help me get my eating habits in check.
I can guarantee you that I will not be fully giving up my Pumpkin Spice Lattes or my Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish, but I will be eating a lot less of them. Except during a certain time of the month and major holidays (like President's Day and Valentine's Day Eve.)
Okie dokie. If you're still awake after reading this riveting post- I salute you.
If not, well, can't say I blame you.
Be blessed, lovelies-
Congrats for getting motivated (I am still looking for that motivation) but so sad for all the tasty food. I will make sure to eat a couple goodies in your honor.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
LOVE Cherry Garcia!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHave you tried skinny cow ice cream? It's not that bad. Nothing compared to my boys Ben & Jerry, but good alternative :)
ReplyDeleteI need to get motivated. I am a bridesmaid in two weddings this spring and I want to look my best. Guess its time to say bye bye to Chicfila and pizza.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these websites above. I was looking for a good website to keep track of my daily calories. And yes, on major Holidays, indulging is a must!

I just blogged about a new workout I am trying called Pure Barre. We have it here in Memphis and it is AMAZING and will it great for toning! You should see if they have it anywhere around you!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it girl! It is SO hard because of all the temptations but you can! I lost over 15 pounds for my wedding when I heard a rumor that one of my bridesmaids said I would never fit into my wedding dress. Talk about motivation!!!
ReplyDeleteI covet that picture. YUM!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going through the same thing right now - shaping up my diet! I eat very healthy most of the time but with the holidays I've been a bit of a slacker.
ReplyDeleteI can't give up my morning coffee from Starbucks though :) So instead of ordering the drink the way it comes - I always ask for the "skinny" version and this knocks off a ton of calories! Check out the nutritional info on their website. Good luck to you and happy friday! :)
Much like everyone else, I am changing my diet! I hope you post some tips you find...I need all the motivation I can get NOT to go to chickfila!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend :)
You know I actually look forward to Mondays now that the Bachelor is back on. Good luck on your diet. It's hard to stay fit when youre happy and in love. I know all about it :)
ReplyDeletei know i've talked about it plenty on my blog but do you do yoga? or hot yoga? or just do plain ole hardcore workouts? anyways, best of luck with your work out but don't drive yourself crazy because you're beautiful! xo
ReplyDeletehungry girl is great bc you ccan make alternatives..i mean 250 calorie red velvet cupcakes that taste pretty bomb? sign me up.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you (but you look great anyway)!
ReplyDeleteMy shameful, guilty pleasure is the Bachelor too.
Going through the same thing right now -- for the past few months, I worked out (but slacked a bit) and ate whatever I liked...eeks! Needless to say come Monday the scaled showed a number about 10 lbs higher than I'd like.
ReplyDeleteBut this week I focused on my diet (and only indulged in Starbucks once) and have already lost 2.5 of it. You can do it!
The Bachelor is still sitting in my DVR. Debating over watching it. I am so proud to say that I have gotten back into working out. I slacked of for, uh....years and I'm hoping to stick with it. You will look awesome on your wedding day!
ReplyDeleteLove the title of your post! : ) I really need to get motivated!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! I'm trying to get back in shape too! That picture of candy almost did me in!! lol it looks delicious!

ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!! Just remember the key is moderation, not giving up those delicious treats all together! (I could never give up chocolate!)
ReplyDeletegood luck! i'm right these with you, I'm going to check out that calorie counter website, but i'm scared :)
ReplyDeleteThey have cherry garcia frozen yogurt from ben and jerry's which tastes VERY similar and is WAY less calories and fat...I highly recommend it:)
ReplyDeleteOk you and I need to hold each other accountable for healthy eating during the months leading up to our weddings. I have been a total slacker since October. The sweets and starbucks are my downfall!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day Eve! Hee heeeeee!! You are too cute missy :) Best of luck, let's all do it together! Success in numbers! :) Happy weekend doll!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! We can do it! My favorite line: Ben and Jerry's, you are dead to me! ha!

ReplyDeleteyay for having motivation!! it's not always easy but something about a girl wanting to look beyond amazing on your wedding day will get her bum to the gym all the time ;)
ReplyDeletei remember those days and i miss them, thankfully my motivation kicked back in and i've been hitting the gym again. and i love thedailyplate.com for tracking workouts and what i've been eating.

ReplyDeleteRead this article (see link below) on how Kourtney Kardashian lost 45 lbs! She still sneaks in the snackies, but just in tiny portions :)
ReplyDelete*But you look itty-bitty in the pics I've seen of you on your blog, so I don't think you've got anything to worry about it the weight dept!

ReplyDeleteLeslie-
ReplyDeleteYou look great now so I can only imagine how beautiful you will be on your wedding day! I tried the pretzel M & M's but I still like the PB ones better :) I have used the websites you mentioned to count calories, and like thedailyplate.com too. I haven't been to hungrygirl.com but will definitely be giving it a try too! Happy weekend YAY
Congrats on the awesome success you're having. I got a trainer last year and she whipped my behind into shape fast. Sparkpeople.com is also a great site for healthy living. Meal plans, workout tips, and it's all free. I've been trying to eat healthier for the last year or some, but I always make time to indulge here and there! XO

thats great that you're motivated. i need to be too.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to look fabulous and way to go for being motivated to stay away from all the fatty foods!
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is motivation for me to get off here and go hop on the elliptical :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have a huge passion for fashion too, but my closet doesn't understand. I think you should do a pic post and make us fashion lovers feel better about collecting boots in every color of leather & suede...
you crack me up! You're going to look fab in your wedding dress no matter what! But as a tip - you can get the pumpkin spice latte with non-fat and no whip add a splenda and it's just as good! I swear!
ReplyDeleteHa! You crack me up. You look great, girl! But I understand the wanting to eat better. I'm trying... kinda. haha.. :) So I headed over to Celebrate Mag for work to look up where our bank was nominated for something. And I saw them talking about your blog! Love it! Way to go, girlie! XOXO!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute blog! Congrats on the engagement! and good luck with your diet over the next 9 mths. I would give anything to look like I did the day we got married... ha! but a baby and 2 1/2 years later those days are long gone... I wont ever look the same! ha
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this time! So exciting
UGH! I hear ya! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I feel your pain! I'm getting married on September 23 (so as not to interfere with the Razorback game on the 24th) and have to get back to the gym hardcore. I had lost 30lbs. before I met my fiance, but I've completely blown it since we started dating! All I can say is thank heavens there's not a La Huerta anywhere near Colorado!
