Made You Blush



Hi, howdy and hello...welcome back from 'le weekend.

Lately, I can't help but notice all of the pale blush tones sweeping the fashion world. Like the dresses of Emma Jones and Claire Danes at the Golden Globes last weekend, peachy pinks, roses, tans and nudes will be de riguer this spring.

 I'm not especially wild about the Day-Glo neon shades that will also be popular in the coming months, so this color trend is like a breath of fresh, flowery air.

Some tips for wearing blushes and nudes:

-If you're pale, go for rosey hues and pinks. If you're olive, peachy corals and nudish tans are the way to go.

-If you're wearing a blush colored dress, go for a gold shoe. It will contrast nicely with the lightness of the dress but is easier on the eye than a heavy black shoe.

-Gold jewelry goes best with all shades of blush. Steer clear of silver- go for the gold.

    Ahhh, you read my mind. LOVE these colors. And love the Steel Magnolia reference, blush and bashful :) Makes me smile! I just picked up my bridesmaid's dress for my best friend's wedding that's in April, and it's a gorgeous coral/blushy shade...can't wait to wear it!     Love this post... especially the advice. B/c I am pale (blah) and tend to be unsure how to wear a nude without looking washed out. I can handle light pinks and rosey hues. :)

    Love that clutch! Must have! I am super SUPER pale, so not sure these colors would flatter me very much!

    Love those shoes. Did you happen to catch the new show, Fairly Legal? The attorney-turned-mediator in the shoe struts around in pumps that I was almost drooling over!

    I love this trend. These colors are so beautiful and feminine. Like you, I am not fond of the day-glo neons that I see popping up for spring. Yuck.

    I love all the light pinks, they are appropriate for winter and summer in my opinion (maybe a more nude heel) given the appropriate layers to go with. IN LOVE!

    Great post! I definitely have to go with a more coral toned nude shade...otherwise it totally washes me out. And i agree that only gold accessories work with nude tones!
