To-Do's for the "I Do's"

via Style Me Pretty

Welcome back from the weekend, friends! I hope all of you had a relaxing and WARM weekend, wherever you spent it. The snow actually melted quite a bit here over the past two days, but I hear we're about to get another round of it tomorrow. Guess we better batton down the hatches for Round 2. Sigh...
Last night while my fiance S was Superbowl watching with the guys next door, I turned on Oxygen and watched My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. It quickly got me in the mood to do a little more online research for our upcoming wedding!

We have TONS to do this month (and pretty much every month until September), but with the help of our friends, family and blog pals (that would be y'all), S and I are confident we'll get everything done. My Future SIL is the absolute BEST and has just made me feel so much more calm and relaxed about planning this big day! She has great taste and style and lots of "real" words of wisdom...love her!

Anywho, I think I've narrowed down my flower options. I really love white hydrangeas and classic, white roses.  This hydrangea/rose mixed bouquet from Style Me Pretty just makes me swoon...

I definitely want the banding around the bouquet to be black or very dark blue, since our colors are steely blue-grey, ebony and bone white. I think it would tie everything together nicely. (Pun intended.)

We have also chosen our honeymoon destination! S and I are going to spend our first days as man and wife in Charleston, South Carolina! It's one of S's favorite places (he's been there for work before) and I just know that I'll adore it too. We enjoy being outdoors and both love the South and coastal cities. Done and done.

I also ordered one of these wire hangers from Lila Frances off of Etsy last night. I can't wait to actually purchase the dress to hang on it, haha!

I ordered an all-metal one, which was a little pricier than the wood/metal one, but much more shiny. I'm a sucker for shiny things... : )

...and lastly, I picked up these two new magazines at Target last night for inspiration. For you brides-to-be, I would highly recommend both of them.

Here's what else we have left to do this month:

-Book our reception venue
-Start scoping out hotels for the honeymoon
-Begin our pre-marital counseling sessions with our "mentor" couple from church
-Go do my first dress try-on marathon with my mom!! (I'm a little extremely excited about this. A little ; )

If any of you have been to or live in Charleston and have recs for a nice hotel, please email me and let me know! This is one area of the wedding that we're definitely willing to splurge, so the nicer, the better!

Be blessed, lovelies-

  5. I have lived in Charleston for 10 years and absolutely love it. If you need any help feel free to pick my brain!

Charleston Place and Market Pavillion are my two favorite hotels. Govenor's House Inn is a great little B&B if that is more what you are going for.

  6. We stayed at the Vendue Inn this past July and adored it! :o) Beautiful hotel, great location, "bed and breakfast" feel, and absolutely delicious made-to-order breakfasts.

Also, if you are looking for restaurant recommendations, Magnolias is fabulous!

  7. The Vendue Inn is definitely great! But the Market Pavilion (http://www.marketpavilion.com/) is BEAUTIFUL and very very nice. They have one of the best restaurants in Charleston in the bottom of it. It also has a rooftop bar and pool area that's awesome.

  16. My husband and I went to Charleston for our first anniversary. It is such a dreamy place. We loved it so much, if we had jobs there we would move.

You have to eat at the Oak Steakhouse. It is FABULOUS! If you stay downtown you can probably walk to dinner. I hope you guys have a great honeymoon.

  18. Since I live in SC, I hit Charleston at least twice a year. It's GORGEOUS and you will fall in love with it. You should look into the islands just off the coast. They have some beautiful hotels and inns, and it's a short drive to the main land. Some of my best summer memories were made on Daniel Island, Sullivan's Island, and the Isle of Palms. :)

  19. I usually stay in Isle of Palms but for your honeymoon I'd look at Kiawah Island. It's beautiful!

Anywhere downtown is going to be amazing. I'm getting married in South Carolina in March so let me know if you need anymore help.

  20. I live in Charleston and I must say it is a beautiful place for a honeymoon. I love it and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. You've already gotten some great hotel recommendations from some of my fellow South Carolinians so I'll just say that I hope you love this city as much as I do when you visit!
