Recreate Kate's Make-up
Mornin’ y’all! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Although I never really jumped on the Royal Wedding bandwagon, I do think it’s totally worth blogging that Kate looked beautiful! One of my favorite parts of her look was her make-up. It was soft and understated, just the way a bride is supposed to look on her big day, if you want my opinion.
I love that she still looked like herself and that the make-up didn’t overshadow her dress, hair or smile. I’d love to recreate this look on my wedding day in September, so I’ve been scouring the web for tips on ways to replicate a “Kate face”.
Of her look, Vogue UK said:
“She created a soft, smoky eye, and enhanced the apples of her cheeks with a pink blush color. Her lips were understated, with a lick of soft pink to match the color gracing her cheeks.”
I found these items on Sephora that are sure to do the trick!
If you’re like me and struggle with doing a smoky eye, check out this helpful tutorial. Also, remember that if you are going to try this look for a big event, practice it a few times at home first!
What did you think of Kate’s make-up on Friday? Royally perfect?
Be blessed, lovelies-

So pretty gorgeous and perfect for a wedding!
ReplyDeleteShe looked like an angel. Just perfection.
ReplyDeleteNow off to try looking like a Princess....
She looked gorgeous, and she did it herself! That blush is gorgeous! You'll love it, I got it a few weeks ago and it is all I have been using!
ReplyDeleteKate looked so perfect and I absolutely love the fact that she did her own makeup! I also recently got the Tarte Amazonian blush and LOVE it!

"Royally perfect" is the BEST way to describe this! Love your posts like this...I'm definitely one of those ones that sits around and tries to recreate all of them :) Hope your weekend was fabulous, sweet friend! Misssss you!

Great post! I loved her makeup too - and I heard she did it herself! She is gorg.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I, too, dug her makeup! I agree about brides being "pretty" instead of "glam." I mean, you're automatically glam.. it's your wedding! No need to go all crazy with the makeup. Let the real YOU shine through!
ReplyDeleteI love that her makeup was so natural - not overdone at all. Kate is so naturally beautiful and her makeup really enhanced it! Love this :)
ReplyDeleteLeslie,
ReplyDeleteFound you on another blogger's blog (!!) listed as a fave...
I heard she did her own makeup. True?

I think Kate looked absolutely stunning on her big day and I'm sure you will as well! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I thought she looked stunning!
ReplyDeleteI too thought she looked beautiful!! Her make-up was fab and I did love the fact she did it herself. The ONLY criticism I have is that her eyeliner underneath was slightly too harsh- it needed to be softened a bit more (I do wedding make-up as a part time job BTW, not just criticising from an amateur point of view!!). Those colours she chose would look gorgeous on you- the smoky eye is always popular with brides, looks great in pics and carries from day to night xxx
ReplyDeleteI thought she looked so beautiful and very natural! I really dont like for brides to not look like themselves on their weeding day. I think she did a great job making sure she looked like herself!! Good luck on recreating her look! I like itll look great on you!!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and absolutely love it!!! Great tips..she looked so beautiful

I agree, PERFECT for a wedding day, especially one like hers! hey btw...did she really do her own makeup?? that's what I've been hearing! wow!
ReplyDeleteI watched the wedding and I thought she looked great! I know a lot of the stuff she got from Bobbi Brown cosmetics.
ReplyDeleteI really thought her makeup was perfect. So many brides I feel look totally unlike themselves because their makeup is so heavy! I think the key is to keep it light and lovely, and still look like yourself.
