Hey, beauties! How are y'all today on this glorious Friday?
I thought today we'd just talk about fun stuff, since Fridays are meant for fun, in my opinion. Plus, sometimes I just like to talk with y'all on here about nothing...it's what we ladies do best!
1. We have a winner of the SwimSpot giveaway and her name is Jenny, from The Road to Bliss! She was drawn as lucky number 18 using random number generator! Jenny, I'll be emailing you shortly with the details of your big win, girlie!
2. I've committed to doing 4-5 days of exercise per week and this week was my first attempt at completing all intended 4 trips to the gym. All of this is great, except that I'm STARVING right now. Like, everytime I sit down, I want food. I know this ravenous feeling will pass soon, but do any of you other gym rats get that feeling when you up the ante in your work-out routines?
3. We are going to visit Stephen's brother's new little baby tonight and I'm SO excited! His name is Lucas and he's just a little over 2 weeks old! I makes me excited for some day in the future when S and I will have kiddos of our own! Just for the record though, we want to wait at least 3 years before starting a family...but I still get excited seeing other couple's grow their families!
4. Speaking of growing families, my future SIL Sarah is expecting her little bebe in October and last week she found out it was a boy! I can't wait to welcome a baby boy into our family next fall!
5. I'm in the process of writing a post for next week that I'd really like your thoughts and prayers on! It's basically about me and my journey through my twenties and dealing with certain insecurities that I sometimes face. I think it's so important for women to be able to talk to one another about things that we deal with and lift each other up. Just keep me in mind this weekend as I finish it up!
6. One of my good friends took some new engagement pics of us last night and we are SO pumped to see them! The three of us had a blast just driving around Northwest Arkansas and taking random pics. If you are in the market for a great, affordable photographer, PLEASE do yourself a favor and contact Rhyanne. She is so fun to work with and will definitely capture some great shots!
7. Today marks the one year anniversary since I've been in a tanning bed! I made a pledge to myself last year that I would forego tanning and do my skin a favor. I'd encourage all of you girls to do the same! My skin looks a WHOLE lot better and I've developed a love for sunless tanning. I use Mystic Tan, but lots of places offer similar airbrush tanning or even sunless tanning lotions that look very natural.
7 seems like a pretty good number to cut out on, so with that, I bid you a good weekend! Have fun and be safe!
Be blessed, lovelies-
Cant wait to read your post!
ReplyDeleteGo you for committing to 4 gym days. I only commit to 2. That's plenty for me. It's also great that you stopped tanning. Like smoking it's something that I still can't believe people do what with everything we know now. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI agree - Fridays are definitely meant for fun! I'm really looking forward to your post, I love reading posts like that from girls that a few years older than me, y'all are certainly an encouragement!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on your tanning milestone! I gave up tanning this year but haven't been brave enough to try the mystic yet! ha!
Can't wait to read your post next week.
ReplyDeleteAlso, can't wait to see the engagement pics!
When I up my workouts I do find I am hungry more often but that is because your body is burning more calories, so you need more! I just snack in between meals, usually on some protein or fruit)!
Have a great weekend meeting the new little guy :)
Congrats on your tan free anniversary! This really does touch my heart working for a massive cancer organization. I see teenagers and 20-somethings all the time with melanoma. The chemo/radiation/near death diagnosis isn't worth the tan - SO proud of yoU!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, it always brightens my day and is so uplifting:).
ReplyDeleteI stopped tanning in the beds about 2 years ago, one of my friends had cancer found on her arm and it scared me out of tanning beds! Good for you!
Have a great weekend!
I stopped tanning in beds about 2 months ago and haven't looked back. I too have developed a love for sunless tanning (both Mystic and lotions) and love that you are doing the same thing :)
ReplyDeleteThinking of you in finishing up your post and can't wait to read it. Have a great weekend!

I can't wait to see your photos! I bet they look amazing! That's so awesome that you haven't tanned in a bed like that for a year.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try getting a Mystic Tan! Maybe I will give it a shot this time before heading to CA.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the working out! I started working out with my dad 4 times a week and feel so much better about myself! ;)
