The Farewell Dress

Today is an all out ode to the “Farewell Dress”, or, as I like to call it, a “Leavin’ Dress”.

Yes, that second option is probably more appropriate for Arkansas.

You know how some brides, ok many brides, change into a shorter more comfortable dress for when leaving the reception? Yeah, that’s a Farewell Dress. Or Leavin’ Dress.

I had originally planned to wear my wedding dress to the hotel after the reception, but after some careful consideration this past weekend, I’ve decided I’d like a second dress for our big exit.

I do love a wardrobe change.

And it’s a terrific excuse to buy another dress I don’t need.

This is the story of my life.

However, I’m getting married in, oh…..2 MONTHS! So if I’m going to purchase said Farewell Dress, now would be the time to do so. Here’s where y’all come in:

I need to poll you fair readers on which of the following you like best. These are the finalists and one will make the cut!

    For some reason I'm loving the Lilly Shayna and MarieKate dresses. Something about those sleeves, very pretty. Can't wait to see what you choose!

    They all are pretty dresses but I love the Lily Pultizer MarieKate or Shayna They are both classic timeless dresses. I also feel the lace makes the dress feel more bridal, even though the leavin' dress is a more causal than the wedding dress you still want to stand out as the bride.

    tie between the one shoulder from the Limited and the lily pulitzer 3/4 length sleeve dress. Depends on the look you want- classy and leaving for the honeymoon or dressy and very girly with the one shoulder. : )

    So many beautiful dresses to choose from! My top 3 for you are: Lilly's Shayna, Pleated 1-shoulder by the Limited, and lastly I LOVE the Mimi Sleeveless by BCBG!
    I think you're going to have to narrow it down next week and do another poll! :)

    I think the second Lilly dress is very similar to the one Kate wore (except white) so it screams elegance and class! But if you are looking for a more fun, "Let's party, I'm married" look the fourth one looks so doll! Then the third choice is The limited reception dress. Very classy, beautiful,and a very "bridal reception dress" look. (Thus the name I'm sure ;) ) Good luck, they are all great choices!

    I've been debating about a farewell dress for my wedding as well!

    I love the Lilly Blossom dress! I think it is very classy but also so fun!

    My second fav is the BCBG Max Azria Floral Applique Tafetta Dress. They're all beautiful and I know you'll look fabulous in whatever you choose. :)

    i have been lusting over the lilly pulitzer mariekate dress for a long time now. i want it so bad, but have no place to wear it...

    for you, i would pick the lilly pulitzer bowden dress for sure. but i also love the palais one shoulder by BCBG if you wanted to do a bright, fun dress!

    As a recently engaged girl myself, I've been debating rather or not I want a Leavin' Dress. But if I were to pick one it would be the BCBG Max Azria Floral Applique Tafetta Dress, it's gorgeous and still bridal.

    I LURVE the first two and then the final bright pink one!!! Those are all fabulous! You have such a pretty neckline; so I definitely see you in that first strapless one the most, but the other two are pretty fantastic too in my book.. as are all these! You will be stunning no matter what!
