I've been pouring over pics lately in hopes of nailing down exactly what hairstyle I will sport at our wedding NEXT MONTH.
Yes, let's all take a moment to let that soak in....
Next month...our wedding...it's happening....gracious be.
Whew! Anyway, I've been looking at many photos online and also consulting my hairstylist Jennifer on what to do. She is, coincidentally enough, getting married the Saturday AFTER mine and Stephen's wedding. We joked that it's a good thing that she and her fiance didn't get married on the same day as us or she wouldn't have been able to do my hair, haha!
After a lot of thought, I've decided that I'm going to wear my hair down, a 'la Kate Middleton! I just love the look of flowing, feminine locks on a girl's wedding day. I mean, it's the most dressed up you're ever going to get...might as well go equally girly with the hair, right?
I think we'll probably pull one section back, just to give the style some structure, like Carrie Underwood-Fisher's seen above and below. We'll also do loose curls all around my head, not to "curl" it per se, but really just to give it body and movement.
Thankfully, the humidity is always pretty low here in AR in September and my hair holds curl very well, so this style should work quite well.
What do y'all think? Do you think I'm making a wise hair decision?
How did you wear your hair for your wedding day? Post a pic on your blog today and leave the link in the comments field if you want to show it to me!
Be blessed, lovelies-
GIRL!!! You are going to look stunning no matter what!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first one I love. I wore my hair up the day I got married and regret it! I wish I had done a more everyday style.
ReplyDeleteI wore my hair down on my wedding day...I loved it!
ReplyDeleteYou can see a photo here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/53374437@N02/4991403164/
I wore my hair up and loved it but I wish I would have worn it down. It will look gorgeous:)
ReplyDeleteTry out wearing it down different ways so we can see! I think I'll end up wearing my hair down, when the time comes to get married.
ReplyDeleteI wore my hair up and I'm so glad I did! I got married outside in mid-May in Florida and it was H-O-T. So I think it really depends on your venue and the weather.
ReplyDeleteI love the loose curls!
ReplyDeleteI wore mine up and was really glad I did. We got married in October but it was a hot day and I would have hated to have my hair sticking to my shoulders/neck. You can see a picture of mine in my blog header.

I wore my hair down and if I had to do it again I probably wouldn't. I got married in May, in Florida and it was mis...era...ble!! So hot!! My hair was a frizz ball by the end of the night!! If humidity isn't a problem, then I love the look of wearing your hair down!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these hair styles! I wore my hair half up half down with curls - similar to the last photo. I think it's a great choice for you & you are going to be just GORGEOUS! Can't wait to see pic's!!
ReplyDeleteMEGAN LAND

ReplyDeleteGirl, you know I can't resist a post about hair! I'm so excited for you. I remember how anxious/excited I was this time a year ago. I hope y'all have a lifetime of happiness and many blessings!

I wore my hair up just because I usually do and I find it more comfortable! Plus I have really awkward baby fine hair that would not look good at all down! But I really love the hairstyles you are looking at! Any would look great!
ReplyDeleteI actually just made a video with a collection of photos from our wedding if you want to take a peek! I know an updo isn't what your thinking of but here is the link if you're interested: http://theminahanfamily.wordpress.com/2011/07/31/our-wedding-video/
I love this hairstyle. I do it all the time because I can't stand my bangs sometimes when it is hot or I'm being active. I always loved J.Lo's at the awards a few years ago. Big, soft curls and a top poof.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!

Oh, I love these looks! I am planning on wearing my hair down for my wedding! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the hair ideas!! You are going to be absolutely stunning!! I wore my hair up and it was wise being that it was a very hot and humid day!! I love all of the choices above and can't wait to see what you pick!!

I like these hairstyles...very southern with the poof (I'm a TN girl, so I love a good poof!) I was going to wear my hair down, but decided to go all up because we would be dancing at the reception and I didn't want to be a sweaty mess! What if you did all down for the ceremony and pulled it up for the reception? Here's what I did for the wedding.

I really love the second Carrie Underwood hairstyle!!
ReplyDeleteLove these photos, and I think it is going to look graet on you! I really like Carrie's hair in the first one! For my wedding, I wore my hair in a complete updo and had been growing it out for a year for that! The heat and humidity in Florida is always through the roof, and I wanted pintucked curls with lots of hairspry to keep everything under control :) You will look beautiful no matter how you wear your hair!
ReplyDeleteYour hair will look beautiful down!! :) And um.. holy wow.. NEXT MONTH?! Crazy!! I'm excited about it! As crazy as that sounds since we relaly just know each other over the interwebs!
ReplyDeletelove the lil poof in the front! You'll look SO good with that! I think hair mostly down is a good choice for wedding hair. (Ok-maybe I'm biased because I wore mine down too...) ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite kind of hairstyle! When I was in a wedding last summer, I copied an Erin Andrews style from Dancing with the Stars. I'll find and email pics :)
ReplyDeleteYou will look flawless no matter how you wear it!! But I do think what you've chosen is perfect!
ReplyDeleteAhh! You know you're getting close when you're making hair decisions!! I can't wait to see what you end up doing! Here is my wedding hair:

I wanted to wear my hair down.... but August in Texas would've melted it right off my head....
ReplyDeleteI love the ideas.. it'll look great down and curled!
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful, but I especially like the first and last one!
ReplyDeleteI've never been married but advice I've heard from people when being a bridesmaid and involved in this sort of thing is: Do what makes you feel REALLY pretty. It doesn't matter if you always have that hairstyle when you're going out/at home etc, just wear it how you feel most pretty- I'm sure that won't be hard for you though gorgeous lady xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the last picture! gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove hair down for a wedding and the styles you chose!
ReplyDeleteWearing the hair down is such a beautiful idea, I love more natural styles!
ReplyDeleteI wore mine Audrey Hepburn style! http://www.thestrengthoffaith.com/2011/06/more-wedding-pics.html
ReplyDeleteThat's going to look beautiful on you! Can't wait to see all the wedding photos!
ReplyDeleteOf course you'll look cute however you decide to do your hair. You and our fiance are prec!! My husband isn't a fan of just the middle pulled back. I like the idea of the side or both sides pulled back with soft curls. You're gonna be beautiful;)))))
ReplyDeleteI think the half up/half down style will look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of wearing your hair down on your wedding day! You want to look like yourself, ya know!? That's why I wore mine half up/half down, with a poof *of course* as you may be able to see in my blogger profile pic :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pics you posted, you will be gorgeous!!
love, love, love. I want to do my hair half up to keep it out of my face for pictures and because I'm not a huge fan of my neck [silly I know] and want to cover it up. I love these styles it's freeing and will keep your eyes the center of attention!
