I just realized that I hadn't done a random thoughts post yet this week! We can't let that happen, now can we? Here are the random thoughts going through my head this week:
1) I haven't read The Hunger Games, but I saw the trailer for the movie and it looks so good! I'm not usually one for sci-fi movies, but this looks more like a thriller/drama. Have any of you read the books? If so, what did you think?
2) I have recently discovered a new store online called Sosie. Any of you out there familiar with them? I was in search of this dress, which I saw on Pinterest. Unfortch, the Zig Zag Dress is sold out, but I saw SO many other adorable items that I'm over-the-moon about.
Cute, right?
3) The hubs returned safe and sound from NY last night. I had my8 hours of sleep of the week last night. I just sleep better when S is home : )
4) We have recently discovered a den of foxes living near our subdivision. Each night for the past few weeks, we had been hearing hyena-like noises coming from the woods near our house. Well apparently our neighbor was emboldened enough to go in search of the culprit.
He subsequently discovered a den of 15-20 foxes living there. How random, right? They're actually kinda creepy because we've seen them meandering around our yard in the middle of the day before. We thought foxes were nocturnal creatures, which goes to show just how little we know about forest dwelling animals.
5) I may or may not have spent a good twenty minutes looking up the proper plural form of the word 'fox'. (According to Merriam-Webster, it's 'foxes'.)
6) I was doing so, so well at having a Starbucks latte only once a week. This week musta' been a bruiser, because I've been hitting that drive-thru like an alcoholic on a bender.
7) To justify this somewhat costly and completely unnecessary latte-drinking habit, I tell myself that I'm aiding in economic recovery for the U.S.
8) Because my one latte per day is bound to put our country right back on track ; )
Be blessed, lovelies-
I'm definitely not a sci-fi reader, but The Hunger Games series was wonderful! Of all the books I read in 2011, that series was definitely my favorite. :)
ReplyDelete...as Im sipping on an iced latte....
ReplyDeleteS was away - you deserve all those lattes!
I ordered the Zig Zag dress while it was on backorder and I'm just praying I get it. If you think of or find something similar let me know! I need it for a bachelorette party :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a sci-fi kind of girl AT ALL and I loved the Hunger Games books - trust me, once you start reading you won't be able to stop! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a sci-fi reader but I read the Hunger Gamers and loved them so much, all three books were finished in a week - I absolutely recommend you read them! They're amazing!
ReplyDeleteI want to read those books so bad!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely read The Hunger Games- they are so good! Finished all 3 in a week! Also- question for you- I've noticed you wearing nude platform pumps in a few pictures- which ones do you have?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Another gal piping in to say that I am not a sci-fi person AT ALL but I loved the Hunger Games books! You won't be sorry you read them! And I agree, the movie looks great!
ReplyDeleteHaha Great analogy! That skirt in the second photo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLOL 6, 7, & 8 tickled me to death !
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just need a latte Starbucks in your life <3
Be carful with the foxes! We had a rabid one around our house a while back, that thing was SCARRY!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress! Now I have a new time-passer at work...
ReplyDeleteThe foxes during the day may mean they are Rabid.. which means Rabies so keep your doggies out of their range! OH & thanks for stimulating the economy one latte at a time! :)
ReplyDeleteYou've GOT to read the Hunger Games. I promise you won't be disappointed. I took all three books on a recent trip and had them finished in less than a week. So good!
ReplyDeleteMy sisters were all about the Hunger Games when they first came out and tried to get me to read them. I'm a very sympathetic reader and wasn't sure I could handle the whole 'fighting and killing for food' idea.
ReplyDeleteI do feel like I'm missing out on something now, but I don't want to just read it because everyone else is!
Glad the hubby is back safe and sound. Have a great week!
I was so skeptical of the Hunger Games too, but OH MY, they are fabulous! You will be addicted. I got through all three books in a week!
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games were the best books I have ever read! I couldn't put them down! You MUST read the books! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games series is fabulous! I've never had anyone read them and tell me they didn't like them!
ReplyDeleteHunger Games is a MUST READ! I finished it in two days, so good.
ReplyDeleteYou MUST read The Hunger Games. Especially before seeing the movie. And foxes? How random! I'm a total word dork, so I enjoy looking words up and grammar. Don't judge, please lol.
ReplyDeleteI have heard so many good things about The Hunger Games. The hubs read it not too long ago and he loved it. I should really read it, but it's hard to get myself to break down and read a sci-fi!
ReplyDeleteYumm! A latte sounds so good right now!
ReplyDeleteMy sister is begging me to read The Hunger Games...I guess I'm going to have to break down and do it!

Hunger Games is the bomb dot com. <-- yup, I just said that. Seriously, SUPER quick reads. I think I read the first one in two nights or something ridiculous. It's a love story and adventure and also makes you think.. I loved it! Totally read it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally google random things like foxes, etc. Since I'm in PR/Communications, I often sit here and think "Wait, should I abbreviate that?" and start googling. If work tracks my googles, they'll wonder why I'm in my current job. ;)
oh man, the hunger games are intense! and i say you on the news today about kellys korner show us your singles success stories!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute website, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy son JUST bought the first Hunger Games book a week ago and he is nearly finished. He LOVES it so much and can't wait to get the other two books. I was told by a friend I should read them and I was poo-pooing the idea but now that my son is going to own them, think I'll give it a read. Saw you on the news as well from Kelly's blog...so awesome! Glad you're getting sleep again (I'm the EXACT same way) and here's to Starbies! I had one Tuesday but since I start my day early Friday, I'm stopping and picking another drinkie poo up on my way in to work! Yay for growing the economy (or at least Starbies anyways! Hah!).
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games: do it. I' have just finished the fianl book. Awesommmeeee. Oh and totes get the whole latte thing, I have quit coffee for nearly two weeks now and the headaches still won't go away!! Argghh. But hey, the bod is looking and feeling so much better for it :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others! Read Hunger Games! The trilogy is great, especially the first two books! :)
ReplyDeleteI just read Hunger Games this week and I hated it :( I really wanted to like it because EVERYONE likes it, but it just wasn't good to me. It was a really quick read, but I'm definitely not reading the rest. Sads.
ReplyDeleteYou must immediately go out and purchase The Hunger Games. Absolutely amazing!!!!
ReplyDeletei (like most of the ladies above) am not one for sci-fi by LOVED the hunger games! would definitely recommend (from one girly girl to another).
ReplyDeleteand you definitely deserved the lattes. if the husband was gone, you can treat yourself until he gets back!
you NEED to read the hunger games ASAP. seriously. the series will take you no time to read and they are such good books.
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games was amazing! You should definitely see the movie when it comes out. I'd recommend reading at least the first book beforehand if you can. They're really not sci-fi at all, but futuristic dystopia.
ReplyDeleteYou MUST MUST MUST read the Hunger Games Trilogy! Read at least the first one before the movie comes out....I literally could not put any of the 3 down. The sad part? It's....um.....located in the "teen section" of Barnes & Noble. I told the worker that it was for my teenagers and he just looked at me like, "yeah, riiiiiiight Lady!".
