We've talked a lot of fashion for the past few days, so I thought today we'd talk nonsense. I mean, I love clothes as much as the next gal, but occasionally we all need a good dose of nothingness. Amen?
1. I baked two loaves of pumpkin bread last night and our house smelled unbelievably scrumptious. I ate so much of the batter while I was making it that when the actual bread was baked, I wanted nothing to do with it. Tonight though, we dig in. (Note: I added a cream cheese filling to the pan on the left. A little Philly never hurts, right?)
I used this recipe from My Baking Addiction. |
2. Our boys (Arkansas Razorbacks) play Alabama on Saturday and, though I'm hoping they don't squash us too badly, I'm SO excited for the SEC fabulousness that will take place. A lot of y'all know that I'm a big 'Bama fan (second of course to AR), so this will be one of the most fun games of the year, at least I think.
3. On that note, I was talking to someone yesterday about the mutual respect that a lot of our conferences' teams have for one another. I think it's cool! Seriously, if I'm not yelling for AR, you can always find me cheering on 'Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia (LOVE the 'Dawgs), the Gamecocks, LSU...you name it. Love 'em all, I really do.
4. Don't forget to purchase your items from my Scentsy party with Megan. It closes Saturday, so get thee to her site!
5. And yes, I just emboldened the aforementioned item. #ShamelessSelfPromotion
6. We need a new vacuum cleaner. Any suggestions?
7. My husband ordered a batch of McDonald's fries and a burger last night. I opted for oatmeal, (yes, for dinner.) I snuck a couple of them and OH MY...so tasty. I'm sorry, but McD's has the best fries. Bar none. Hands down.
8. My Stephen (yes, I refer to him as 'My Stephen') and I have been married for one year on Monday. ONE YEAR. It went by in a blur. Cannot wait to celebrate with him this weekend and next week in Chicago : )
We scheduled a one-year anniversary photo shoot for October and we plan to use the pics as Christmas card photos!
Enjoy your Thursday, ladies.
Be blessed, lovelies-
wow, 1 year married already, wow. i started reading your blog jsut before you guys wed.
ReplyDeleteyay, one year anniversary to me
HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Happy Anniversary!!! I bought the professional shark navigator vacuum (the white one) 2 months ago & it has totally changed my life :):):) got it at BB&B... used 20 % off coupon... total score!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you're a Dawgs fan, lol! That's my alma mater:) And totally agree with you on the SEC respect thing - love that about our conference. Congrats (early) on your one year anniversary! We celebrated ours in April, and I can truly say it was the best year of my life. Married life rocks! Can't wait to hear all about your trip next week. Safe travels and have fun!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just started following your blog, and I really enjoy your fashion advice as I am always looking for affordable, trendy outfits:) Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteGrab a Dyson. It will totally change your life or really disgust you at the same time with how much filth it picks up! :) Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWe need a vacuum too. We are headed to Kohl's tonight to look. I'll let you know if we find anything good. I REALLY want a dyson, but can't imagine paying a house payment for a vacuum.
ReplyDeleteI agree about SEC fans respecting other teams. As a Gamecocks fan, I love watching Alabama and LSU. But just because we're nice to one another doesn't mean we can't make fun of the ACC, right? ;)
ReplyDeletethat pumpkin bread looks AMAZING! you must share the recipe! I always love homemade baked goods more than any other! congrats on your one year! :)
ReplyDelete- Pam
You've got to get a Dyson--yes it's expensive but you bet your cookies it's going to pay for itself in the long run. It sucks up dirt you didn't even know was there. You and your Stephen are adorable! Can't wait to see the photos :) Enjoy your cake tonight, and have some for me too!
ReplyDeleteAwww Happy One Year Early!!! I can't believe my 1 year is next month! Where did this awesome year go?
ReplyDeleteGirl you are a SEC girl after my own heart. I always root for SEC teams (minus Auburn, can't do it, can't make me! Or Florida... can't do it, can't make me!) But all of the others, even LSU, yes I will root for them against any non-SEC team.
I'm excited about Saturday's game. As you know AK and AL are my faces!
Happy almost one year! Ours is coming up in November. Oh and ROLL RIDE :) I'll be proudly wearing my houndstooth and crimson on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more about the mutual love and respect within the SEC. It makes me so thankful for being a southern girl!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with the Dyson. We got the animal one, but any will do. It will change your life haha. We'll never go back :)
ReplyDeleteI do love SEC football, but I will always say Geaux Tigers! Vacuum suggestion is a Shark! I LOVE mine! It is super light weight, but has really good power. Lots of attachments and easy to use. Two thumbs up! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOoh my that bread looks yummy!! Enjoy Chicago! Its the perfect time of year to visit :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE McD's fries too! They are the best. Next best is Wendy's. One year! Wow. Time really does fly. I say that all the time but it does. We never even did engagement photos and your Stephen is doing 1 year anniversary photos?? Maybe I can get my Mj to do 5 year photos. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteDyson (Model DC 33) is what I have for a vacuum! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to add to the Dyson suggestions! We LOVE our Dyson (have had it for almost two years now). We have the animal version. My only recommendation if you consider a Dyson is to stay away from the "ball" version. The suction power is not as great as the others.
ReplyDeleteDid you use your wedding photos for Christmas cards last year? I'm a newly we'd and was thinking about doing that
ReplyDeleteI would love your pumpkin bread w/cream cheese filling recipe. That sounds delish! And probably much easier than a pumpkin roll. Also, vacuum cleaner. We have a Dyson now (which is great), because our Oreck bit the dust. It was a very basic but GREAT vacuum--the only thing I didn't like is that it had no attachments, but I'm sure there are models that do. I just ordered the Caramel Pear Crisp scent from my Scentsy rep last week, along with the pumpkin warmer. Excited to get it :)
