1. I confess that I changed clothes FIVE times yesterday before leaving the house for work. I’m in that weird post-baby-body phase where I feel like nothing fits in a way where I’m comfortable, or I feel like outfits just look frumpy. (Mamas, can I you all relate?)
Anyway, our bedroom looked like the fitting rooms at Nordstrom after a
sample sale. Clothes everywhere. Luckily
Caroline hasn’t inherited this quirk from me yet and seems to be satisfied with
her first choice of clothing every day ; )
2. I confess I cannot get behind
buying a $70 pair of moccasins for my INFANT. I mean…what on earth?? Seems like
everyone’s just throwing money down for those (admittedly) adorable, yet horribly expensive moccasins, and I’m over here like, “We went to Carter's!” (By the way, love me some Carter's. Caroline would be naked without them.)
Anywhoodle, it’s America and you can buy whatever you darn well please
for your kiddo, but I just can’t quite take the plunge on spending that much
myself. On baby shoes. For my baby that isn’t walking, nor requires shoes.
For $65,
those puppies better feed, dress and change her stinky diapers, too.
3. I confess that I'm not buying a swimsuit until this post-C-section tummy gets a little more toned up. I tried one of my old ones on at home last night and it wasn't exactly pretty. Of course, a tan probably would have made it a bit less shocking. Thank you all for the exercise dvd recommendations! I'm off to purchase a couple and also look into some of those free YouTube workouts, too!
Happy Friday, bunnies. Happy Friday.
Happy Friday, bunnies. Happy Friday.
Seriously...what is with the moc trend. Holy expensive!! Carter's all the way
ReplyDeleteI'm all for Carter's and Target! :) I don't get spending that much money on any item of children's clothing. And I'm with you on the post-baby clothes blahs. Two C-sections have done a number on me.
ReplyDeleteI love the mocs...living in Maine, it's so worth it to have a pair of shoes that stay on! We only buy one pair of shoes per season, so they were totally worth it! I was against paying even $25 for robeez, but they are totally worth it. Once they start walking, it's so important to have good shoes! That's the only thing we buy brand new - otherwise, it's sales and second-hand items!
ReplyDeleteTotally with you on the baby mocs. My little man just grows too fast to spend that much on one thing. And especially on shoes. Now, maybe when he actually starts walking, I could see spending a bit more on some quality shoes. But until then? Carters all the way:) And boutique sales/consignments! Love them! Have a great weekend, sweet girl!

I don't think I put shoes on my baby till she walked? Plus those mocs have zero support for their little feet when they do start walking and in the pics I've seen of babies wearing them, the color wears off very quickly. I remember seeing them on Shark Tank and I thought - no way. Carters works just fine!
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes. YES! No buying shoes for humans who don't need them, especially not $70 shoes when this mama's wearing flats from Target...
ReplyDeleteI always thought it was so neat how some people would pick out their clothes the night before, lay them on their chair, and take only a few minutes to get dressed every morning. Well, I decided to try that for myself a few years back. Disaster. No matter how careful I was about picking out my outfit the night before, the next morning I HATED whatever was laying on my chair, and naturally just assumed someone had either changed out the colors or the sizes while I was sleeping. Needless to say my room looks very much like yours in the morning, almost on a daily basis. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved your blog before, but after this post, I love it 100 times more--I am RIGHT with you, girlfriend! Baby girl is not getting a $70 pair of moccasins. They're cute, but we too rock Carters--and Target shoes!
ReplyDeleteShare what dvds you've bought! My stomach is not good in a bathing suit this year! ekkkk!
ReplyDelete$70 for infant shoes?! That does seem a bit excessive! They're just going to outgrow them anyways. :) Excited to have found your blog. :)
