Lipstick I'm wearing is here. I also use a 1-1/4 inch barrel Hot Tools curling iron. |
I'm loving the bargain hunting aspect that comes along with this monthly post series. I've scored so many designer look-alike items through research for these posts. Not sure my bank account is thrilled, but my closet is way happy ; )
Behold (!!) My picks for October:
Jessica Simpson Beagan Boot in Bourbon Fudgie ($99) vs. Frye 'Shirley' Over-the-Knee Boot ($478)
3.1 Phillip Lim Medium Pashli Bag ($825) vs. Ann Taylor Pebbled Signature Crossbody Bag in Taupe Latte ($98)
Tinley Road Pleated Fit-n-Flare Dress ($89) vs. Milly Fit-n-Flare Textured Dress ($450)
Via Spiga Quilted Trapunto-Stitch Leather Jacket ($269) vs. Maurice's Quilted Faux Leather Jacket ($69)

Finally, I wanted to show y'all how I tie my blanket scarf. These babies can be a little bit daunting because, well, they're massive. Hopefully, this will help if you're struggling to tie yours!
Also, I mentioned in the video that I got mine from Heart & Home Collection. Unfortunately, it looks like they're sold out : ( (They do have it in a very pretty red color, though!) CORRECTION: Megan says she still does have some - yippee!! Looky here!
My girls at Riffraff also stocked this scarf, the Mad for Plaid scarf in Multi, last week and, though it's currently sold out, they will be getting more. Simply enter your email address on this page to be notified when they have arrived.
Also, can we please take a minute to appreciate the incredibly moronic look on my face in the still shot of this video? Thanks, YouTube.

(The lipstick I'm wearing in both photos and the video is called Plum Velour by Revlon and can be found here.)
I'll see you back here tomorrow for Confessional Friday!
P.S. - If anyone else knows of stores that have the blanket scarf in stock, leave a comment telling where! I know lots of ladies that are still looking to get their hands on one, so I thought that might be helpful!!

Do you curl you hair to get these curls like you did in your youtube video? What size iron are you using? So pretty:) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Tiffany! Yes. I use the Hot Tools 1-1/4 inch Gold Barrel Curling Iron. Try Sally Beauty or Ulta - I think they both carry that brand. If I can get some time over the weekend, I wouldn't mind at all to film a quick little video of how I do it!
DeleteThis was so simple and easy to understand. Thanks! I always week like I'm wrestling with mine :)
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf tutorial! I just got my blanket scarf in the mail yesterday. Asos has some cute options for any ladies who are still searching for one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tutorial video, Leslie! I really appreciate the quick and simple instructions. This will definitely come in handy!

YAY!! That is amazing news! I'll go back and add the link and edit. Thanks, Megan!
DeleteYou are too cute on camera! &I never would have thought to tie a scarf like that, always did the twist then pull back ordeal. You should do more YT videos! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the video! I've never tied a scarf that way so I'm anxious to give it a try today. Your hair looks amazing, too. I just picked up a great blanket scarf at Target last week. They had a neutral one and a red one for under $20
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial! I just got one from Charming Charlie for $20! Can't wait for the weather to cool down in FL to wear mine :)
ReplyDeleteI am buying that lipstick - so gorgeous! Lets hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!
ReplyDeleteLoving your lipstick color! Going to have to make a trip to Target for that! And yes if you have the time over the weekend to do a curl tutorial that would be great :)
ReplyDeleteI just ordered a look alike from Target.com for $16.99! Can't wait to get it! It's not as big as the blanket scare, but has the same pattern, which is what I wanted!
ReplyDeleteThese cheaper choices are seriously just as cute!
ReplyDeleteLeslie! I love your vlogs. You are seriously glowing, sister.
ReplyDeleteOoohhhh...I am loving that gray fit and flare dress! The fit and flare style is incredibly flattering on my body shape. Thanks for sharing your bargain finds :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the video! I have been looking for a new way to tie mine! I am going to link this to my blog :) Thanks girl!
